One wheel for the whole Christmas countdown
December is magical and exhausting in equal measure. This wheel takes the nightly "what should we do?" off your plate with four ready-made lists: mischievous elf setups, family countdown activities, Christmas movies and cookie flavors for baking day. Every list is pre-filled with at least thirty ideas and fully editable, so you can add your own family traditions and remove anything that doesn't fit.
How to use each tab
Elf Ideas is for families with a Christmas elf tradition. Spin in the evening to decide tomorrow morning's scene. Short on time? Switch on "Quick & easy only" to keep just the setups that take under five minutes. Turn on "No repeats this season" and the wheel skips ideas you have already used — the counter shows your progress, and "Save tonight's idea" keeps a running list of what you have done so far.
Family Activities is your advent countdown in a wheel. Spin once a day for an activity like a lights drive, a cocoa bar night or volunteering together. Christmas Movies settles the "what do we watch?" debate with a mix of classics and modern favorites. Cookie Flavors picks what to bake on cookie day — spin once per batch or let each kid spin for their own.
Tips for busy parents
- Prep the night before. Spin after the kids are asleep, set up the elf scene in two minutes, and enjoy your coffee in peace while they hunt for it.
- Keep a quick-ideas shortlist. The under-five-minute filter exists for the nights you remember at 11pm. Hiding in the tree or a mirror joke always works.
- Use what you already have. Flour snow angels, toilet paper towers and toy dance parties need no shopping trip.
- Let the kids spin. Handing the wheel over turns the countdown into a game and buys you a few quiet minutes.
- Save your winners. The saved-ideas list becomes next year's greatest hits.
A simple countdown-activity guide
You don't need an activity every day — aim for three or four a week and the season stays fun instead of frantic. A rhythm that works for many families: one craft or baking activity on the weekend, one cozy night in (movie, puzzles, cocoa) midweek, and one outing (lights drive, tree farm, ice skating) when schedules allow. Put the big-ticket activities on the calendar first, then let the wheel fill the gaps. If a spun activity doesn't fit the day, just spin again — the wheel doesn't mind.
Everything on this page is free, needs no account, and keeps your lists in your own browser. Merry spinning!
