Free Online Spin Wheel — Random Name Picker & Decision Maker

A spin wheel is used to make a random choice from a list of options. Teachers use them to call on students, marketers use them for Instagram and TikTok giveaways, families use them to settle what to eat, and teams use them to pick a speaker or assign tasks. Any decision with several equal options is a good fit.

Open the SpinGenerator wheel, type a name into the Add field, and press Enter — repeat for each entry, up to 100 on the Custom Wheel and name pickers, or up to 12 on the themed wheels. You can rename an option by clicking on it, or remove one with the X button. Your edits stay on the wheel until you reset or close the page.

Yes. SpinGenerator remembers your wheel in your browser between sessions, so reopening the page restores the same options. You can also share a wheel by sending the page URL — the recipient sees the same default options and can spin without an account.

The Custom Wheel and the name pickers hold up to 100 entries. The ready-made themed wheels hold up to 12 options so their segments stay readable on phones.

Wheel of Names is the most widely used classroom spin wheel, while Picker Wheel and Random.org are common alternatives.

Teachers use random name pickers to call on students fairly, form group projects, choose a line leader, or run quick review games. Because the pick is visibly random on a spinning wheel, students perceive the process as fair, which lowers complaints and keeps engagement high during class.

Yes. Add each entrant name to the wheel, hit Spin live on stream or in a recording, and the segment the pointer lands on is your winner. The spin is visibly random and can be screen-recorded, which satisfies the transparency rules for most Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube giveaway promotions.

Yes. SpinGenerator uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and maps the result evenly to a segment. The pick is statistically uniform — every option has the same odds on every spin, independent of past spins, so results are fair.
